Movie Details
Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Set during World War II, it centers on Rick Blaine (Bogart), a disillusioned American who runs an underground nightclub in Casablanca. When his old lover Ilsa Lund (Bergman) arrives with her Resistance leader husband Victor Laszlo (Henreid) seeking to escape from the Vichy-controlled French Moroccan authorities, Blaine must decide whether to turn them over to the authorities or help them escape the Germans.
The script was originally written by Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein, and Howard Koch. Philip G. Epstein had written the first draft of The Mortal Storm.[4] He had been stuck on writing a love triangle between the main characters and could not go further until fellow screenwriter Howard Koch suggested that he write a film about treason.[5] They pitched the idea to producer Hal Wallis at Paramount Pictures and he bought it.[6] Wallis sent it to director Michael Curtiz who liked it and “helped me put it together”.[6]
Ingrid Bergman was selected for her part because Wallis thought she was the most

Casablanca (4K UHD) Review
If you are a follower of the movie, you will be delighted with this fresh 4K disc. Before I got my hands on this disc and inserted it into my 4K blu-ray player, I was content with my regular Blu-ray disc of this movie. I believed that the blu-ray was a great advancement from the earlier DVD, and it was. I assumed that the blu-ray had taken the old movie to its peak level of image quality. But, I was wrong. The new 4K disc even surpasses the old blu-ray! If you have a 4K compatible television and a 4K compatible blu-ray player, then this is an incredible upgrade. It has never looked better.
